Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats Do not use quick oats.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Consider adding pink salt for extra flavor.
Chips
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture. Mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes if you can.
Baking
  1. Scoop dollops of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
  3. Let cool on the tray for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
